Cass County vs. Henry McKean, T. J. Crum
Demand for damage 26th day of May A.D. 1879. A summons in the above entitled cause is this day issued returnable on the 31st day of May at one o'clock pm 1879. A venue is also issued for a jury to try the cause and the papers are placed in the hands of James Graves, Constable Sumouns served by constable James Graves May the 26, 1879, May the 31st day 1879. The following named freeholders of Cass County having been summoned to try the cause and duly sworn George Virgen, C. T. Walker, Henry C. Pratt, William Way, G. W. Shoopman, Sim Buxton, the jury at the request of plaintiff Os Skiles viewed the proposed road where it crosses the land of Defendants after hearing the testamony returned the following verdict. We the Jury empaneld to assess the damages sustained by Henry McKean and T. J. Crum by reason of the opening and construction of a road through their premises which Said Public Road was petitioned for by Robert Thopson and others do assess the damages of the Said Henry McKean and T. J. Crum Four Hundred and Thirty Three Eighty cents, $433.80. Henry McKean $272.40, T. J. Crum One Hundred and Sixty One 40/100., $161.40.
